Training and Capacity Building
Case Study: Smarter Workforce-smarter business
The project “Smarter workforce - smarter business” was implemented in cooperation with Regional Directory of the professional development in Korca. The project goal was to improve the interaction between demand and supply on the labor market, so that on the one hand, young women and men had access to labor market information and employment vacancies; and on the other, private businesses could find qualified personnel. “Entry into the labor market” here didn't refer only to getting a first job, but more broadly, to the whole process, from the increasing the capacities and abilities up to the time they found a stable, gainful job they really rooted for.
The proposed project aimed to develop a functional system / program for training and professional development according to the market/ businesses demands. There were two main components of the program:
- Online platform– which bridge the businesses needs for employees and capacities of the people which need to find a job, mainly young people and women.
- Capacity building/trainings of the job seekers according to the market demands.
This program was developed in cooperation with Regional Employment Agency and compliments existing training and programs developed by this Agency, which managed this program after the project implementation.
